If you know me, you know that reading is one of my favorite things to do. I have always been a book worm, and much prefer reading over watching TV (except for when it comes to GoT and Handmaid’s Tale). In fact, on most nights and weekends you will find me curled up on the couch immersed in a good book. I’ve read 50 books this year, and I’m well on my way to my yearly goal of 100. Since that’s my reading goal every year, I’m bound to come across some incredible books as well as a few duds. So, in no particular order, I’m rounding up my top 10 favorite books that you need to read ASAP. If you’re looking for some new reading material, I’ve got you covered!

Spring Fashion Must-Haves

Yay, spring is here! There is really nothing better than watching the trees turn green and the flowers start to bud. Of course, this also means the weather is warming up, which allows for more opportunities to sit outside in the old town square and enjoy some delicious adult beverages. But along with the rising temperatures comes the chance to switch out my wardrobe and try out some new fashion trends. I love shopping and I enjoy refreshing my wardrobe each season. However, since I live in Poland, my closet storage is drastically smaller than my closet in America, so I have to be smart about what I buy and make it last as long as possible. With that said, I also don’t splurge on fashion items (with the exception of my Louis Vuitton Neverfull), so finding a good deal on quality items is something I’m all about. So, I thought I would share my spring fashion favorites that are on my wishlist for this season.

Well, hello there! I haven’t been on here in so long that I think I forgot how to blog. As usual, life has been so hectic that I feel like these past five months have flown by in the blink of an eye. There have been a lot of changes around here, so let’s dive right in and talk about what I’ve been up to!

Reflections and Aspirations

Hi, hello, welcome back. It’s me…again…the worst blogger ever. I know I hardly ever keep things up to date on here, but that’s because nothing super exciting ever happens. I mean, do you just want to read post after post on 10 hour work days and kitty cuddles? I don’t think so 😉 I’ve decided that this is a great place to document my travels, as well as any exciting changes, but since the weather has been so cold and nasty, we haven’t been out and about in a few months. Hence, why you haven’t heard from me in awhile! While I would like to be more consistent about blogging, I just don’t have the time right now. But that’s not what this post is about! I’m here to talk about why 2018 was so great and what we are looking forward to in 2019.

We were on HGTV!

I have been super MIA on this blog for the past few months, but we have been working hard behind the scenes on a really cool project. In June, we were contacted by a head hunter for HGTV’s popular series, House Hunters International, and we spent a lot of time filling out applications, making interview videos, and providing additional information. Since this show is so selective and competitive, we weren’t sure if we were going to be accepted, but we found out in late July that the producers wanted to work with us! We decided to keep this whole thing a secret since we thought it would be a lot of fun to announce filming whenever they were actually shooting us. So, now that the secret is out, I decided to make a small vlog documenting the whole experience. We can’t show a lot of “behind the scenes”, but I hope you enjoy this small little sneak peak into what we have been up to! Watch the full video here, or scroll down to see some action shots.

Things have been super busy around here (what with moving, traveling, and business things), so I thought I would take you along for the week and show you a small glimpse into my life. In this (fairly lengthy) vlog, you will see a business trip to Warsaw, daily life around Krakow, and everything in-between. So, if you want to experience Poland through an expat’s eyes, go ahead and check it out!

Can you believe that Andy and I have been in Europe for almost a year? It’s insane! I didn’t realize how long we have been here until I looked at the calendar and realized it’s the 4th of July. A year ago, we were in LA shipping off our car, meeting with immigration, and wondering what our life would look like in 365 days. Little did I know that I would be living in a totally different country (that’s NOT Austria) and trying to learn a second language (that’s NOT German). Am I mad about any of it? Not at all! I signed up for an adventure when we stepped on that plane 10 months ago, and an adventure is definitely what I’m getting. Granted, it’s not how we envisioned things turning out, but we are making the most of it in Krakow and are actually really loving it!

Welcome back! It’s been a crazy month over on my end. For those who don’t know, Austria denied our residence visa (for no other reason than because they could) so we were forced to retreat and go for plan B…which happened to be Krakow, Poland. However, while we were waiting on the Austrian government to make their decision, Andy and I spent three weeks on a “workcation” between Budapest and Bratislava. If you want to see the first half of our trip, you can read the full blog here or, if videos are more your style, you can follow along virtually with this short vlog. Read More

My Week in Budapest

A few years ago, we went to Prague as part of our 5 year wedding anniversary trip, and ever since that vacation, I’ve been lusting after Budapest. Everyone I talked to said that if you loved Prague, then you would fall hard for Budapest (and vice versa), and seeing as how Prague was one of my favorite cities to date…I was super anxious to book my trip to Hungary and experience the magic for myself.
